Holiday activities

There's a wide range of holiday activities for children at each of our main centres.

All pools and leisure centres have special programmes during the school holidays, while Medina Leisure Centre has a full programme of activities in most school holidays.

And don't forget - there's FREE swimming for kids throughout the school holidays

All children resident on the Island up to the age of 15 can swim for free* during school holidays .

The offer is available at the three pools operated by the Isle of Wight Council – Medina Leisure Centre in Newport,  The Heights in Sandown and Waterside on Ryde Esplanade.

Free swimming is available to any child with a Junior Registration One Card – forms are available from all our pools – a signature from a parent or guardian is required.

There’s no limit to the number of times you swim during the school holidays but, as with all our activities, participation is subject to availability.  Free swimming is subject to set session times.
